COVID-19

In response to recent world events surrounding the pandemic of COVID-19, Shaw Computer Systems Inc. (ShawcsIT) has developed a policy to protect its staff and customers. There are two priorities for us: the safety and well-being of all our team members, and keeping our clients connected and running during this extraordinary time. Our goal is to strike the best balance between the two.

As of the creation of this document on March 14th, 2020, PRHC confirmed the first positive case of COVID-19 in Peterborough. The affected individual is at home self-isolating. The person presented symptoms of upper respiratory tract infection after travel to Spain and Portugal.
We are sending this notification out to clients to advise them of new protocols now that outbreak requiring isolation and some business closures is affecting our region.

The Shaw Computer Systems Inc. (shawcsIT) office at 236 King Street will close today at 5:00 pm until further notice. During this time, our staff will continue to provide you with service by working from home, providing remote support. We will be doing our best to help our customers set up and maintain their office networks and remote connections.

We are currently receiving many requests to assist clients to set up remote workstations. We appreciate your understanding and patience, as we work through these requests as quickly as possible.

Onsite support will only be provided for emergency situations. Social distancing, respiratory and hand hygiene are critical to lessen the risk of spreading or contracting COVID-19. These measures are particularly important for our staff who may need to work at customer sites in an emergency situation requiring a service call. Shaw Computer System’s (ShawcsIT) Staff will be equipped with gloves and disinfectant to help keep everyone safe while working on client computers.

After today, the best way to request support is to email service@shawcsit.com If you are working from home, please include a phone number we can reach you at. Service requests will be allocated to a tech who will then contact you asap to assist you to resolve your problem remotely.

Please call the 705-742-2204 telephone number for any other requests that are not service-related such as accounting or purchasing. If the line is busy, please leave a message or email us at shawoffice@shawcsit.com

As events unfold and we do not know what to expect, any requirements for hardware, software, toner, or accessories will be addressed by direct delivery via courier to your home, or office if it is open, while these services are still available.

As Canada Post may not continue to stay open, please do not mail any cheque payments to us during this time. All payments should be made via Visa, Mastercard or Direct deposit. If you wish to pay by Visa or Mastercard, please email me at carlye.mongraw@shawcsit.com with your phone number and I will call you back to make the payment. Please note we do not accept email Interac transfers as they are unsecured.

As we all continue to deal with the COVID-19 situation, we want to reassure you that Shaw Computer Systems Inc. (ShawcsIT) is doing everything we can to meet your service needs. Know that we are taking added precautions to keep our clients and employees safe. This is our number one priority. We are here to provide support the best we can, and to help you manage and run your IT in these uncertain times.
